THE OPPORTUNITY

A large national convenience store retailer wanted to refurbish of all their older stores (> ten (10) years) to give them a facelift and freshen the consumer experience. The retailer wanted to refurbish all customer facing millwork, countertops and displays without shutting the entire store down for a whole remodel. The challenge was how to execute effectively, safely and within a short time-window.

THE SOLUTION

Performance partners with the retailer to understand their needs and stay within budget. Performance developed a customized refurbishment program to update the highly visible store areas consumers saw the most. The program repaired damaged and outdated countertops, updated plumbing fixtures, and employed new millwork only replacing items that were beyond repair. Instead of costly remodeling, the program also involved deep cleaning of surfaces, millwork and equipment to freshen areas that needed it most.

The result? The retailer updated and brought older stores up to customer standards for a third the cost of a full remodel. This enhanced the shopping experience, improved the retail environment and increased same store sales. The added benefit- these older refreshed stores could last another 10 years before leases came up.
